  2. Whinge about having to pay/be put through the gauntlet to access public information
  3. Discuss the quality of data received (ie. value for money)

LGA - Crime Maps PDF Print E-mail
The Bureau of Crime Statistics & Research NSW has released a series of crime maps by Local Government Area based recorded crime statistics. Each report includes information on recent trends in the 17 major offence categories as well as hotspot maps showing the distribution of crime within the LGA . From social capital to core economy co-production PDF Print E-mail

Local and regional community planning here in Australia had been focused on social capitals for the last few years. These social capitals are often difficult to measure, intangible indications of community cohesiveness and social health, such as volunteerism and social connectedness. Increases in social capitals are thought to increase community sociability, greater community involvement, decrease isolation, and improve community safety. In more recent years, social capitals have been included under the new buzzwords/concepts of 'co-production' and 'core economy'.

National Regional Profile, 2002-2006 PDF Print E-mail
The new National Regional Profile, 2002-2006 has been released by the ABS. You have a choice in choosing to download data at either the LGA or SLA level via the SuperTable data reader. The state tables also contain additional informations not included in the Australia-wide table. To download a free copy of the SuperTable data reader, check out their website here.
